אנחנו משתמשים בזמן זה כדי לתאר פעולה שהתרחשה מסויים בעבר. השאלה מתי התבצעה הפעולה היא לא רלבנטית, כיון שהדגש הוא על הפעולה עצמה. לא ניתן להשתמש בזמן זה אם קיימת מילת זמן שמגדירה מתי הפעולה התרחשה כמו ב- Past Simple
