“Green Menorah” project פרויקט החנוכיות הירוקות at the ECP במרכז היהודי באוסטין טקסס AustinTX Sent by:Dalia Zisman, the ECP's Curriculum Coordinator נשלח ע"י דליה זיסמן- רכזת תוכניות הלימודים של הגיל הרך This year the early childhood program in Austin decided that each age group will create a "green" recycled menorahs. Each class in that age group created it differently. השנה הוחלט שילדי הגיל הרך במרכז היהודי באוסטין יכינו חנוכיות "ירוקות" וכל קבוצת גיל יצרה חנוכייה שונה.

The Bear class rubbed glue all over the bottle and attached pieces of tissue paper and gift wrapping paper on it. בני ה4 הכינו חנוכייה מבקבוקי יין ריקים.הם מרחו דבק על בקבוק הזכוכית והדביקו עליו חתיכות נייר טישו ונייר עטיפה .

Then they used nuts as the candle holders לאחר מכן השתמשו באומים(של ברגים) ככנים לחנוכיה

Then they glue the traditional candle holders from Israel on the bottles The results were very beautiful. כיתת הדינוזאורים והנמרים צבעו את בקבוקי היין והדביקו כנים מסורתיים מישראל על הבקבוק. התוצאות היו נפלאות

The 3 years old made their menorahs from wood The 3 years old made their menorahs from wood. Each child brought a piece of wood from home: A wooden tray, a tree brunch, a piece of a shelf. בני השלוש הכינו חנוכיה מעץ. כל ילד הביא מהבית חתיכת עץ: מגש עץ, ענף של עץ או אפילו חתיכת מדף

They painted the wood and attached the candle holders to it

The teacher of the Dalmatian class went to Home Depot and asked for steering sticks. The sticks they give you when you buy paint, that help you to steer the paint. She got them for free and they were perfect to make menorahs. The children painted them and added pieces of colorful paper. On top they glued the candle holders המורה של כיתת הדלמטים הלכה ל"הום דיפו "ובקשה מקלות ערבוב צבע הניתנים למי שקונה צבע בחנות . היא קיבלה אותם בחינם והם היו מצוינים לבניית חנוכיה . הילדים צבעו אותם וקשטו בחתיכות נייר צבעוני .לבסוף הדביקו כני נרות מעל.

The 2 years old made their menorahs from a special recipe of salt dough. This dough is easy to work with. The children worked the dough and created the shape of their menorah. בני השנתיים הכינו את החנוכייה מבצק מלח שקל מאוד לעבוד איתו.הילדים לשו את הבצק ויצרו צורה של חנוכיה.

They put the candle holders into the dough They put the candle holders into the dough. Then the teacher baked the dough until it got hard enough. הם הכניסו את כני הנרות לבצק והמורה אפתה את הבצק עד שהתקשה.

After it cooled down the children painted the beautiful menorahs

Our toddlers classes used paper towel tubes which their teachers glued together. The children painted them and added glitter for some sparkle effect. They added tissue paper inside the tubes for pretend flames. כיתת התינוקות השתמשה בגלילי נייר טואלט שהמורים הדביקו בצורת חנוכיה.הילדים צבעו אותם והוסיפו קצת צבע זוהר. לאחר מכן הכניסו לגלילים מטפחות בצבע צהוב ליצירת תחושה של להבה
